Matt Sossoman Clinic 3/30/14

We were lucky to be able to have team Vicious Pro player Matt Sossoman come out and teach this past weekend. Matt is an amazing player and was ranked in the top 5 players for the 2014 PSP Dallas event just a few weeks ago. His teaching style is unique and his insight is spot on. Having someone be able to explain not just your weak points but your strengths as an individual and as a team is a crucial element for any team who wishes to compete in the top ranks. Helping to groom new players and experienced ones alike, Matt's Skill School is one every serious player should consider. Having his help the day after our tournament aided us in both identifying the root problems we have and how we can fix them. From basic gunfighting skills to advanced teamwork and communication drills, Matt knows how to teach. We look forward to where this experience will take us coming into Nationals in 2 weeks. We highly recommend this clinic for both new and experienced teams that are looking to gain a competitive edge.

Thanks again Matt!

NCPA Nationals
4/11-13/14

HPU took the field on 4/12/14 for the NCPA Nationals event in Lakeland, FL hosted by Central Florida Paintball. The weather was beautiful but hot and humid. We played a total of 10 points with our record being 1-3 for matches. Not quite where we wanted to be but the competition was fierce as every team we played made us work for the ground we were able to take. We received our custom made jerseys from Social paintball which was a big edge as their comfort and breathability helped keep us cool in the Florida heat. With an unfortunate placement at 38th overall we did not make the Sunday showdown. A huge thank you to HPU athletics for helping us make our dream a reality, as well as our outstanding coach Andrew Gibson and Reed Reno for taking the long trip with us to help in the pits and to do our sideline coaching. It was an awesome trip with an amazing group of guys, I can't wait to see where this team goes heading into the next years season. On a personal note, I am glad I was able to experience my final year at school playing with one hell of a team. Thank you guys.

NCPA MSCC
Event #4 3/29/14

With a sopping wet field and a 50 degree day, HPU took the field at Black Ops Paintball for the 4th MSCC event. Taking a W in 2 matches we ended the day with a record of 5-5 for points, and 2-2 for matches. When it came down to it, there was 3-way split for the 3rd and 4th seeds for the Semi-Finals. Getting narrowly edged out from the Semi's the determining factor came down to a matter of seconds on time for points won. Although it is a dissappointing circumstance this tournament showed that we have the skill to be a major competitor in the NCPA ranks. We look forward to nationals in 2 weeks where we can show just how far we have come! Congrats to NC State for their first place finish! We're coming for you!

Paintball joins
HPU Athletics!

This spring semester, we are proud to have ben accepted into HPU Athletics! This move from a club in SGA to a club sport solidifies our spot in the HPU community as a collegiate sport, as well as brings us officially onto the national stage as a competitive team inside the NCPA. We look forward to working with athletics this semester and on into the future! With a strong practice and workout schedule, the HPU Paintball team is on its way to being a major contender on the collegiate paintball stage!

On March 28, 2015 Your High Point Pathers took home 2nd place at the MSCC Event #4. This was held at their home field PBC Greensboro. HPU went undefeated in their matches going 4-0 in the prelimenary matches and went a quick 2-0 in the semi-finals. Unfortunalty HPU fell to Liberty University in the finals. Although we didnt get the 1st place,  HPU Paintball truly put up a strong showing against higher divisional teams.
